Under-Tack Show
Also called: breeze show, under tack preview
An under-tack show is the preview held a few days before a two-year-olds in training sale, where each horse is breezed an eighth or a quarter mile so prospective buyers can see — and time — how it moves.
The under-tack breeze is the single most influential moment in a 2-year-old's sale: buyers and their clockers record the time and study the horse's stride, action, and finish. A clean, fast breeze can multiply the hammer price; a slow or labored one can sink it.
